Last week was the official Christening of my new studio (located in the same building as THE BOUTIQUE) and my very first client was my beautiful friend JayneAnn. Here are a few photos from her session...

After we posted a few sneak peeks of her photoshoot on facebook--the calls started coming in :D

Next I did a session w/ my friend DJ (yes, all my young friends are hot LOL) and her gorgeous daughters. Here are some of their photos...

and then my new friend Johanna (whom I call my super model) came in for her session.

and then today I met up with this cutie patootie who had won the photo session give-a-way

drawing I was holding for boutique customers. Today was her birthday so that made it extra special!

Summer evening photoshoot w/ Mr Cain

Look at the bright blue peepers on this little guy! So handsome and sweet, but QUICK--very QUICK! In about half of the photos I took of him at least one limb was blurry because he was on the move baby! There was too much to do and see and no time for the goofy lady with the camera.

Did manage to catch him a couple of times though.

When you see this pose...you know the photoshoot is over LOL.

Marleigh's Beauty Pageant

Remember the photo shoot I did with pretty little Marleigh awhile back? Well, those photos were for her very first beauty pageant. The pageant was yesterday and I'm happy and proud to announce that Marleigh won Grand Supreme for her age group! GO TEAM MARLEIGH! I'm so happy for her!

Boy so far May has been a month full of running! I feel like I've been in a marathon for the past two weeks. I'm happy to report that today my running led me to someone I love very much...my baby sister Christy. I got a chance to meet up with her for a short and sweet visit before she heads overseas. We're going to miss her so much, but are all so proud of her and all of our troops!

I think she might quite possibly have the best set of teeth in the whole military :D of course I'm a little biased.

In more depressing news--I MUST go on a diet! In my search for recipes tonight I stumbled across a wonderful site full of low cal/low fat meals that look delicious and easy to make. Things like this....

I'll be so glad when life slows down to normal. We're getting a new swimming pool set up in the back yard and I long for the days when I can float carefree on a raft and soak up some sunshine.

Marleigh's Photo Shoot

Meet Miss Marleigh, an adorable 3 year old girl who is 100% princess! She had me wrapped around her little finger in less than ten seconds. I love her big brown eyes and sweet expressions. She was a little distracted by our kitty cat Flip, but we used that to our advantage and got some really cute pics of them together. Here are a few of my favorites. Thank you girls--I had a blast!!

I have got to make an appointment with my own children to shoot a new photo to give Grammie on Mother's Day. I've got all next week available for appointments if anyone else needs to squeeze in time to get some new photos of the children taken for Mother's Day. A quick Hello and New Shoes!!

Good Morning my lovelies!

A couple of weeks ago I was @ the JC Penney site looking at shoes. I have a pair of wedge heels that I love and are so comfortable, but I've had them for years and they are finally starting to show their age. I knew I had to find a replacement before they got too embarrassing to wear out in public. I stumbled upon some adorable wedge heels with ruffles created by the Olsen twins (love their taste) but they were sold out online. SO... to make a short story longer...last week I found myself in my local Penney's and as I was walking by the shoe department I heard my name being called, I looked to my right and lo and behold MY SHOES! In both Colors! In MY size! Woo hoo!

I also found another pair of cute ones with macrame heels at Cato (which is where my absolute most favorite pair came from). There is nothing like a cute girly shoe--the best part is I'm nearly six feet tall with them on :D and they are safe cause they're wedges (no twisted ankles for me).

Easter Blessings

The family, my friend Angel and I enjoyed a wonderful Easter brunch outside under the canopy today. We munched on yummy frittatas filled with cheese, bacon, and bell peppers, deviled eggs, ham, biscuits, blueberry muffins, strawberry, banana & pineapple trifle and a sweet and tart pink lemonade. This was my first time serving an Easter brunch and I have to say it was super easy.

I didn't have time to make the tent set-up as pretty as I would have liked, but considering I only had the idea to this two days before I'd say it came together ok. Here are some photos I snapped before we sat down to devour the spread.

We couldn't have asked for better weather today. When I woke up early this morning it was very warm and humid and I worried that we may have to move the party indoors, but by 9 am there was a wonderful breeze coming through and it felt very nice outside.

I hope your Easter Sunday was blessed in every way.

A quick post before bed

I have so much NEWS to share, but I'm really sleepy and have lots to do before putting myself to bed. Had a wonderful time @ the flea market today and took lots of photos of displays in my friend Tina's fleamarket. If you'd like to see click HERE

Crafty bits for the flea market

I've been buried in chores, allergies and errands lately so haven't gotten much art time in, but I did manage to make up a few spring-like things for my booth @ Miz Tina's.

I love saving the jars that candles come

in and prettying them up. This would be a cute jar

to have if you were saving your change for a down payment

on a new home, or maybe for one of your DIY projects.

I save all kinds of jars... this is one that dried

bell peppers came in--it's a great size.

This is a wee candle jar--love it's squatty little size.

Nothing is as much fun as playing in Glitter.

Look for these little birdcages in the 1.00 section of your local Michaels store.

Tina had given me a set of four wooden plaques that had some 1970s

decoupage on them. I sanded all that off, painted the plaques white

and glued a little aluminum heart shaped tart tin to them. So simple and sweet!

Any of you on Pinterest? I love it and am having so much fun with it--if you are tell me I'd love

to see what floats your boat!

I don't know what that unwanted visitor was, but I hope to never see it again! One minute I was fine and the next I had an awful headache a crazy rolling tummy and weakness. Feel so much better tonight! Marie you can keep your tomatoes honey :D

It's funny how when your health forces you to be still you get a lot of quiet work done. I managed to edit almost 200 photos today! I'm cross eyed, but that job is done woo hoo!!

Funky photos and an icky tummy

That about sums up my weekend. For the past couple of days my tummy has not been very happy. It feels watery and rumblie...and even though I'm S T A R V I N G I'm scared to death to eat anything besides crackers. I also feel weak and just bleh...and i'm HOT, but no fever. Miserable yes, but I'll live /end whine.

My friend Tina gave me this adorable red retro-looking dress to use in photo shoots, and of course it "almost" perfectly fits little Miz Chloe...so I decided to do a bit of a retro look whilst editing. Even though this "look" isn't something I normally do, I do love the vintage feel of the pics. Next I'm gonna tie an apron on my model and set her up in front of an ironing board. Yes! Of course it will only be "pretend!" bahaha.

Flea Market fun

March Junkin' on Main

Last weekend found me rockin and rollin under my tent during Junkin on Main. We.were.so.busy! It was awesome! My thanks and appreciation to all of you who stopped by my tent and booth to say hello and purchase some of my pretties. I LOVED seeing all the sassy girls walking around with my headbands on their cute little heads! So much fun! Here are a few pictures I was able to take during the afternoon.

Super fun day!

So today the kids and I headed to the flea market to fluff up my nest, add a few new things and visit with these two cuties...

My 2 beautiful friends Tina (L) and Emily (R). While I was in my booth taking down my Mardi Gras tree I heard Tina call my daughter Chloe over. Tina ran over to the cafe and came back telling Chloe there was someone there that she wanted her to meet. I grabbed my camera (cause you just never know who might turn up in Glenmora, LA). Guess who was there in the cafe?....

How cool is that? She is a gorgeous little thing and so sweet and gracious about having her picture taken with fans. As a little thank you I gave her a headband I had made last night...and here she is modeling it for me.

Thank you Miz Tina for asking Anna so politely if she minded meeting your little friend... That was so sweet! And thank you Anna Margaret for being such an angel. It was great meeting you--best of luck with your career and bless your sweet little Louisiana heart!

And while we're on the subject of rising stars and sweet Louisiana hearts let me introduce you to another one.

James Dupre, you might have caught him on the Ellen show... (click here to hear him) is a friend of my oldest son Cole. They graduated Bayou Chicot high school together. James recently signed a record deal with Warner! YAY!!! So happy for him and his family.

Sunshine yellow

Yesterday was a beautiful sun-shiney day, so Mr Big Daddy, the kids and I decided to clean our nasty front porch with Big Daddy's brand new power washer. We had things looking pretty spiffy by the time we were finished. I went to roll my ugly yellow bicycle I picked up at a tag sale (to use as a photo prop) for ten bucks back onto the porch when I noticed all the little yellow flowers that had bloomed in the grass. I thought to myself that that might make a pretty picture, so I grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots.

This post is so lame and trivial when you think about what people are facing due to the recent earthquake in Japan and the ensuing tsunami. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with all of you who have been affected, and those of you who are bracing for what may be coming as well as everyone in my home state of Oklahoma who are dealing with the fires. God be with us all!

P-p-p-p-p-poker Chips + wooden blocks = funky art tags

I was cleaning up my daughter Chloe's room the other night and picked up a basket full of plastic poker chips. I'm not sure *why* she had them, all I knew was that I had asked her more times than I could count to please put them away somewhere...well, she didn't so I scarfed a handful of them and took them to my studio. As I was cleaning up my art room the other night I ran across a bag of wooden blocks I had purchased from hobby lobby months ago, and a big coil of old rusty wire someone had given me. I put all the items into a basked and vowed I'd find something to do with them this week. The other night I went into the studio to have a little "me" time and I finally came up with a way to use all my funky little bits. I covered the poker chips with scrapbooking paper and glued them onto the wooden blocks, along with a few other little bits and bobs. I think they look pretty cute, and will be a good thing to put in my flea market booth.

A bird in the hand

This afternoon my darling hubby whom many of you know I lovingly refer to as Big Daddy, stepped out the back door this afternoon, and quickly came back in. "Y'all come here!" he said, so out the door we went muttering "What?" He opened up his hands and there was an adorable little brown headed bird in them. Apparently our Lab girl Maddie had the bird in her mouth and was playing with it...I like to think that she was only protecting him from the cats and that she had NO plans of having a little birdie snack. Jeff handed the birdie to me and went to get a cage...well he was heading to get a dog crate not knowing I had the perfect rusty old birdcage in my studio, so miz Chloe went to fetch it. Into the cage went the bird and after a quick inspection I deemed him to be ok, just a bit shocked (and who wouldn't be inside of a dog's mouth right?) So, we let the poor little thing rest quietly in the kitchen window for about an hour then took the cage outside (and out of our dog and cat infested yard) to see if he could fly on his own. Our plan was that if he couldn't we'd catch him and put him back in the cage. After a quick little prayer for his health and safety I opened the door and the bird flew right out and up up up into the neighbor's tree. He was perfectly fine! God is good :D

Here's a picture of our little friend who Chloe dubbed "Charles." Isn't he cute? What was really cute was Mama Bird Miz Chloe had already gotten attached (she's *so* my child) and she got a little misty eyed when her baby was able to fly off under his own power. NOW YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL CHLOE when you do big girl things all on your own...without your mama's help.

May we all be blessed with friends or nice strangers to help us out when we find ourselves in sticky situations.

Now let me tell you all something funny. Did you happen to notice my lovely new bird theme from the ever-talented and generous Miz Itkupilli ? Well, literally seconds before Jeff came in the back door hollering I had hit save on the new blog look. Isn't that wild? Strange coincidences like this always happen to me!
